Radley College Appoints Pye Homes to Develop New Site.
Radley College has appointed Pye Homes to build 240 new properties on its land.
The site will include 84 affordable homes; 21 of which will be shared ownership and the remaining 63 will form part of an affordable rent scheme. The remaining 156 will be available to buy on the open market.
A new cycle link between Radley and Oxford via Kennington will also be part of the development. The build programme is forecast to take approximately five years and work is anticipated to get under way in Spring 2020.
“We are delighted to be working with such an internationally renowned institution on such a prestigious development,” said our Managing Director, Graham Flint.
In addition to providing much-needed, high quality accommodation in an area with a housing shortage, the new development will also help Radley College to establish an endowment fund to secure its long term future.
David Anderson, Estates Bursar at Radley College said: “Radley is an integral part of its local community and is committed to creating homes that will enhance its surroundings and provide a long-term, positive legacy for the area.
“We share many common goals and values with Blenheim Estate Homes and this was influential in our choosing Pye Homes, whose own regional expertise and company values are aligned with ours, for this development.”
John Moule, the Warden at Radley College, said: “The original vision of William Sewell, for Radley College, to found a school with a true appreciation of the aesthetic stands the test of time, as does his insistence on qualities of kindness, decency and manners. This appreciation of architecture and the rural environment will be echoed in this development.”
As part of its Landowner Legacy Principles, Blenheim Estate Homes is setting new standards in landowner legacy development. They believe local landowners have a social, economic and moral responsibility to deliver developments which both long term landowners and local communities can be proud of, and at Pye Homes we work hard to uphold these principles with our partners.
