Mark Brooks, Senior Customer Host at Pye Homes, Shares His Experiences

Each month, we hear from someone who works for our company to explain more about their role, the ins and outs of their daily job, achievements they’re proud of, and what they like about working for Pye.

This month, we spoke to Mark Brooks, a Senior Customer Host – learning more about how he manages the team of Customer Hosts who will be guiding you through your home-buying journey with us.

What are your main duties as Senior Customer Host?

My main duties are managing the team of the Customer Hosts who welcome guests to our customer lounge and explain all there is to know about our new communities. I assist with the sales progression, support with solicitors and it is my responsibility to check on the build progression of people’s homes and to keep our buyers informed throughout the process.

How long have you been working for Pye? What do you like about the company?

I joined in August of this year, just in time for the launch of the new showhome at Park View, which is unlike any other development I’ve previously worked on! What I really love about working for Blenheim and Pye is their commitment to sustainability, particularly with regards to house building. The omission of plastic by favouring aluminium pipes and timber sash windows that will last around 60 years as opposed to PVC and, where possible, using local materials and contractors, contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions.

On a personal level, I feel a rooted connection with Blenheim because my great-grandfather, Walter Brooks was the Gamekeeper at Blenheim in the late 1800s and lived at High Lodge on the Blenheim Estate. Sometimes when I walk through the park, I wonder how he lived and what he would have been up to on a daily basis here.

Is there anything that you’ve worked on that you’re particularly proud of?

It’s still early to say, but I think just the fact that we’re creating such a legacy product that will last for years to come. Additionally, there’s something unique and different about every house and the roofs on the apartment buildings are curved, which is more complicated to design and takes longer to build, but looks so much better than standard apartment buildings.
