School Christmas Artwork Competition Winners Announced at Temple Gate
Children of Marcham C of E Primary School win prizes for our artwork competition!
On Thursday 8th December, we welcomed local children, parents and teachers to the show home of our Temple Gate development in Marcham, to announce the winners of our sustainability-themed festive competition and to present a donation of £1,500 to Marcham C of E Primary School.
We launched an artwork competition in November, inviting children from Marcham C of E Primary School and the wider community to decorate a sustainably sourced tree slice from the Blenheim Estate. The competition was designed to encourage children to think consciously about the environment, especially in the run-up to the festive season.
After careful consideration, we judged over a hundred entries and four children scooped prizes. Ellie-Rose aged 9, Matty aged 11, and Yuhri aged 8, won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively, with a runners-up prize awarded to Joseph, aged 9. The winners took home a sustainable art set, paint-your-own bird house and a gift voucher for Yarnton Home & Garden along with free entry to the magic garden soft play. The best decorated tree slices were displayed on the Christmas tree in our new Temple Gate show home.
Marcham C of E Primary School will spend the donation towards purchasing a range of children’s books to go in the school library.
Graham Flint, Managing Director of Pye Homes, comments:
“Pye Homes has a long history of building links with our communities, and it has been a pleasure to welcome more new faces to Temple Gate at our prize giving evening and to gift our donation to Marcham C of E Primary School. It’s our mission to leave a positive and lasting impact in the communities in which we deliver homes, and we hope with this competition to encourage young people in Marcham to think innovatively about how we manage our natural resources, in a fun and hands-on way.”
