Our future plans
As well as sites which we have coming forward now and on which planning consent has recently been granted, the Company has invested in longer term growth by securing ‘options’ on sites in Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Gloucestershire which are being promoted through the planning system.
In Woodstock, in West Oxfordshire District, we have an option on land which has been successfully promoted through the recent Local Plan. We are now working on a planning and design brief for the site which will provide about 60 new homes to be started late 2008.
We have significant interests, as part of a consortium, in land at North Curbridge, also in the West Oxfordshire District. Here a development of at least 800 new homes together with community uses, schools and open space has been proposed. This scheme will be promoted through the “new style” Local Development Framework for West Oxfordshire.
Jointly with other housebuilders we have longer term land in West Berkshire which is being actively promoted through the planning system and in Cheltenham, we have major land interests to the north of the town. This is within an ‘area of search’ for possible future housing land to cater for Cheltenham’s future growth in the South West region.
In terms of our overall land portfolio we have a balance between ‘immediate’ and longer term housing sites. The Company is keen to promote all opportunities and to secure sites on which we can use our skills to improve housing potential or, in the longer term, work on behalf of landowners in the successful promotion of their land through planning.
