Location
Carterton has changed quite considerably over the years. In the 19th century it was mere farmland, now it’s the second largest town in West Oxfordshire. It started expanding rapidly during wartime when service personnel from the RAF base at Brize Norton needed housing.
Today, it’s a lively place with many amenities include two supermarkets, post office, health centre, primary schools and a secondary school, public houses, a new leisure centre and a Thursday market offering a variety of products.
Carterton has the best of both worlds whilst it’s conveniently situated for South of the A40, South West of Witney and approximately seventeen miles away from West Oxford its found surrounded by beautiful countryside not far from the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Beauty with its many scenic walks to discover and enjoy.
